México 2040 was planned to be the city's second tallest building and have Mexico's tallest residential penthouse. Mexico 2040 was designed to revive the Chapultepec District and turn it into a first class entertainment destination in western Mexico.

Along with a retail base, office, a five star hotel and 80 luxury residences, Mexico's first high rise observatory outside Mexico City would be located in the 42nd floor of the building, with unmatched 360° views.
